I got the biggest crush on him after seeing Excess Baggage a decade ago -- that movie's also the source behind my bizarre twisted affection for Stockholm Syndrome. (PLUS IT HAD CHRISTOPHER WALKEN.) But anyway, point being: My Del Toro crush has stuck to this day, despite him not aging gracefully -- but dude, that's precisely what I love about him. Grizzled! Battered! Brooding!
- Trivia of the night: I once used him as a PB for a reincarnation of the god of war. It was awesome.
- And I know Johnny Depp is the fandom favourite to portray Crowley of Good Omens, but according to my inner brain landscape, Benicio could really give him a run for his money. Which is funny, considering, you know, Fear and Loathing.
